She died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hannah Minerva (Bennett) Russell near Richmond, Oklahoma, March 4, 1935, at the age of 90 years, 9 months, 7 days. In 1861, she was married at Greenfield, Hancock County, Indiana to Alva Wicks Bennett. Ten children were born to this union, six sons and four daughters, eight of who survive. They are Zadok Bennett and Ezra Eaton Bennett,of rural Girard, Crawford County, Kansas; Oliver Bennett, Stockton, Contra Costa County, California; Chesteen Bennett, Pampa, Gray County, Texas; Mrs. Isophene (Bennett) Howell,Bakersfield, Kern County, California; Mrs. Hannah Minerva (Bennett)Russell of Mutual, Woodward County, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Amy Gertrude (Bennett) Hamilton of McCune, Crawford County, Kansas. The husband Alva Wicks Bennett preceded her in death, having died at their home near Girard, Crawford County, Kansas July 6, 1925.
They moved from Hancock County, Indiana to Girard. Where she spent the remainder of her life on a farm in the vicinity.
She became a Christian at the age of 16 and during the pioneer days in that part of Kansas she was a devoted member of the Presbyterian church in that vicinity. Her life as a mother and a Christian was one of devotion and sympathy.
Phoebe was buried March 5, 1935, at Mutual, Woodward County, Oklahoma.
