Son of Virgil & Esther McKee.
Olney E. "Mac" McKee, 74, Wichita, Kansas, died Wednesday, July 30, 1997, at the Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
He was born August 29, 1922 in Abilene, Kansas, the son of Virgil and Esther Ehrsam McKee.
He grew up in Abilene and graduated form Abilene High School with the Class of 1940.
On September 13, 1944, he was married to Barbara Hooper.
Mr. McKee was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1942 until 1945.
He was employed by the Abilene Flour Mills until 1952. He moved to Wichita and was employed for several years by the Sam P. Wallingford Grain Company as a traffic manager. He had also worked for Garvey Grain. He retired in 1989.
He was member of the College Hill United Methodist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of Wichita; one son, Marshall K. McKee of O'Fallon, Illinois; one daughter, Cynthia Ann Little of Wichita; his mother, Esther McKee of Abilene; three brothers, Kay McKee of Abilene, Quentin McKee of Salina and Virgil McKee Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters Valgene Wensel of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Patsy Little of Abilene; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 1997, from the Danner Funeral Home, with Rev. George Gardner officiating.
Burial will be in the Abilene Cemetery with military honors.
Friends may call at the Danner Funeral Home, Abilene, Kansas.
