CATHERINE ABEL

In remembrance of Mrs. Catherine Abel, who died last Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 4 o’clock at her home near Windom. At this time she was 71 years, one month and eight days of age. She was a sweet mother, a sweet grandmother, a loving friend and a good neighbor, loved by all who knew her. She leaves her aged companion, who is almost heartbroken. She also leaves two sons, George F., and James E. Abel, and six daughters: Ettie Weaver, of Bicknell, Isolia Abel, of Bicknell, Carrie Love, of Indianapolis, Alice Donahay, of Plainville, Dora Morgan and Ethel Baker of Washington, and also twenty-six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

O! For the touch of the hand now still;
O! For the sound of her voice;
But she has taken her flight today
To the land of eternal rejoice.

She has passed to be with Jesus
And that Sainted Mother there,
Sister and dear little children
Waiting for her over there.

Behind she leaves an aged husband
Alone the rest of life to roam,
Until at last he too will wander
Within the shelter of that home.

And now dear friends we’ve said farewell,
Until at last we all shall be
Reunited with Our Savior
In that home across the sea.
