Cleo Poling, 85, of State Center died Wednesday afternoon, November 29 at the State Center Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Following cremation, memorial services were held Monday, December 6 from the Presbyterian Church in State Center with the Rev Keith McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillside cemetery at a later date.
Cleo was born in Churdan on October 17, 1915, the daughter of Clifford and Bessie Barr Stock.
She was raised and educated in Churdan and State Center and graduated from the State Center High School. On June 13, 1933 in Dubuque, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Poling. All of her adult life she has lived in the State Center area. For over 30 years she was a Stanley Products salesperson and manager, had had received many awards.
Her memberships include the Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women, State Center Women's Club, a former Elder of the church, and a former clerk of the church sessions.
Surviving is her loving husband, Kenneth; five sons and three daughters, Larry (Lois) Poling, State Center; Jerry Poling, State Center; Allyn (Jeanette) Poling, Fremont, Nebraska; Sharron Abbas, Cedar Falls; Kenneth W (Penny) Poling, Plymouth, Minnesota; Carolee, Mrs Dennis Volker, New Hampton; Rick Poling; Fridley, Minnesota and Lea Ann Hitchings, State Center; 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia (Mrs Darwin) Kell, San Diego, California; Margaret West, Lorenz, California and Norma, Mrs Gordon Yeager of Kellogg.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and two grandchildren.
