Antonio Abeyta 77 ws one of the pioneers who carm i with ox team to Animas City in 1877 . He passed way in a local hopital Tuesday afternoon 4:00 p.m. says the Durango News. Mr. Abeyta was born in 1857 in Taos N.M. when it ws just a place in the road filled for the rural Indiana . When he was 20 came to Animas City to make a home and had since resided in Bayfield Yellow jacket and at Rosa N.M. . He only son E.J. ABeyta of Grand Juction is in Durango completing funeral arrangements .IN addition his son he is survived by a daughter Mres Henry Chaves of Arboles
Funeral servcices for which definit arrangment have not been made will be held this afternoon Fridahy at Rosa and Interment will under the direction of Hood Mortuary in the Santa Rosa Cemetery.
