Leo was born March 19, 1917 to Martin and Emma Zeiszler. He grew up around the Dodge, North Dakota area. He worked in the beet fields of Montana where he met and married Caroline (Bieber) on September 6, 1937. Leo also worked in Beulah for the International dealer, on the Garrison Dam, and in Garrison for the International dealer and later for McGray and Benshoff. Leo was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church. He and Caroline raised seven children. Leo loved fishing and playing pinocle. He also liked baseball.
