Harold D. Rankin was born on May 11, 1927 in Draper, SD to Ben and Loretta O'Bryne Rankin. He attended country school in the Draper area. After graduation from Draper High School, Harold served in the US Armey from April of 1946 to August 1947. He returned to Draper to farm.
On June 29, 1949, Harold was married to Margret Vik in Rapid City, SD. He was a trustee of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, a member of the Board of Directors of West Central Electric, Frontier Twirlers Square Dane Club, and a member of Barrett/Dowling Legion Post. Harold enjoyed farming, square dancing and his family.
Harold is survived by his wife Margaret; three sons Greg, Bob and Ron; three daughters Kris, Karen and Karla; a brother Bud Ranking; two sisters Lois Louder and Margery Hayes and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Clifford and Francis and an infant son.
