Matilda Davenport was born to Abraham Crim and Joanna Armstrong on November 25, 1844 in Shelby Co., AL. She lived in an area that suffered much destruction during the Civil War. She married Sinclair Richard Davenport on August 24, 1865 in Shelby Co., AL. In 1867 the Crim and Davenport families all moved to Rusk Co.,TX. They had ten children, the first of them was a daughter Henry Etta born on July 22, 1866 in AL. The date of death is simply July 1866. It is unknown where she is buried. Matilda died on May 19, 1930 at age 86 in Rusk Co.,TX. She was predeceased by her daughter, two sons Bassel and Sinclair Wilson. Survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, two sons and five daughters.
