A native of Decatur county, Mr. Abbott, was born near Greensburg on May 9, 1860. He was the son of Benjamin and Mary Abbott who came to Tipton county in the early 1870's and located on what is known as the Brackon farm, for which he helped clear the site.
Following the death of his parents in 1890, he resided in the home of the late Webber Johnson until the death of Mrs. Johnson in 1923. He then went to Kokomo and resided with Mr. and Mrs. William Griffin. Eight years ago he came to the Haskett home.
A sister, Mary, and a brother. Quince, preceded him in death many years ago and a brother, George, died in 1927, at the home of the late Cristy Haskett with whom he resided.
Mr. Abbott had been very active until recently. Death resulted from a stroke suffered last Tuesday.
The body was taken to the Ogle & Little home for funerals and will remain there until services at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
