Jimmy Abel, Sr., 78, died on April 30, 2010 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City, Kansas. He was born on July 2, 1931 in Belen, New Mexico, to Landon and Pearl (Oliver) Abel. He graduated from Belen High School then moved to Dodge City where he lived for the rest of his life. On July 7, 1951, he married Lorea Grace Trent in Clayton, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2005. He worked for the local power company for forty-four years until he retired. He was a member of Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. and the American Legion as well as the G.I. Forum He was survived by two children, brother, sister, four grandsons, one granddaughter, five great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, Randy Michael and Ronnie Kent Abel in 1952; and an infant brother, Landon Abel, Jr. Funeral: First United Methodist Church.
