**Although the grave site gives first name of Oscar the obituary and also his state death record give first name of Peder and also a record related to his military service; therefore I have retained the name in the obituary as it was found in the newspaper:

Peder O. Groth Services Held on Wednesday

Funeral services for Peder Oscar Groth were held Wednesday, Jan. 18th at 2 p.m. at the Goose River Lutheran Church, rural Hatton, with Pastor Charles Ellefson officiating. Mr. Groth passed away last Friday [Jan. 13, 1967] in a Grand Forks hospital.

Pallbearers were Lewis Groth, Gilbert Groth Jr., Walter Thompson, Lynn Groth, Lewis W. Thompson and Willie Thompson Jr. Mrs. T.J. Thompson was organist and Pastor and Mrs. C.J. Field sang.

Mr. Groth was born at Hatton on Sept. 15, 1887 and had lived in this area his entire life. He made his home for many years with his brother, Martin and his family, both in Newburgh Township and in Northwood. He had never married. He leaves three brothers and one sister, Martin and Palmer, both of Northwood; Gilbert of Hatton, and Mrs. Clara Dial in California.
