A two car crash at the intersection of Michigan Ave., and North Down River Road early Monday morning, claimed the life of Crawford County's eleventh traffic victim this year. Mrs. Marilyn Wakeley Adams, 32, of Grayling was killed approximately 12:40 a.m. Monday pronounced dead at the scene by county coroner, Derek McEvers. Crawford County Sheriff's officers who investigated the accident said, Mrs. Adams, was driving north on Michigan Ave., and a car driven by Steven Walters, 20, Roscommon, was traveling west on North Down River Road when the two vehicles collided at the intersection.
Walters was treated at Mercy Hospital and released. He received a broken hand and minor bruises. Wesley Argue, 22, Grayling, a passenger in the Walter's car, received a broken leg, minor cuts and bruises. He was also treated at the hospital, officers said.
Statements were still being taken by sheriff officers at press time. Mrs. Adams is survived, by her husband, Richard, a son, Richard Michael and daughter, Lori Ann her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Barton Wakeley, Grayling seven brothers and two sisters.
