Willard Ray Abbett, 87, Rt. 2 (Kniman) died this May 11, 1973 at Jasper County Hospital, in Rensselaer.
He was born March 27, 1886, in Jasper County, son of Oscar and Nancy (Obenchain) Abbett. On September 24, 1910 in Crown Point, Indiana, he married Ida Ann Armstrong, who preceded him in death in 1966.
He was a retired farmer and was affiliated with the Kniman United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a brother, Howard, and two sisters, Mrs. Clyde (Nell) Armstrong and Mrs. William (Ora) Lindman, all of East Chicago, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Two sons, Virgle and Wayne, preceded him in death.
Services were held at Todd Funeral Home, Demotte, with Rev. Fred Pflugh officiating.
Burial at Weston Cemetery, Rensselaer, Indiana.
