Okey Roberts, 41, 1224 Spaulding, died Saturday at the Sheridan County Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 9, 1934 in Orange County, Va. and had spent most of his life in Sheridan. He married Sylvia Berry March 31, 1963, in Fredericksburg, Va.
Roberts was employed by Sears Roebuck and Co. in Sheridan as a service technician. He was a member of the Sheridan Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and his father.
In addition to his widow he is survived by three daughters, Melinda Roberts, Sheridan, Debbie and Virginia Robertson, Virginia; three sons, Bary, James and Darrell Whitlock, all of Virginia; his mother, Sally Roberts, Virginia; four brothers, Clyde and Everett Roberts, Sheridan and Aaron and Jim Roberts, Virginia; two sisters, Edith Jett, Virginia, and Opal Frost, Montana, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Champion Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald McKinley officiating. Interment in the Elks section at Sheridan Cemetery.
