Alice was born to Edward Julius Ruder and Ethel Mary (Foley) Ruder on Wednesday, May 16, 1917. She spent her childhood and attended schools in Minturn, Eagle County, Colorado.

Alice married Herman Duane Alber on Friday, May 7, 1937 in Eagle, Eagle County, Colorado. Together they had a son and a daughter. At the time of Alice's passing, she and Herman were the grandparents of seven and the great-grandparents of seven. A surviving brother and two sisters are also mentioned in Alice's obituary.

Alice was employed as a sales clerk in Minturn before moving to Grand Junction in 1980. She was a member of the Catholic church and enjoyed sewing, crafts, crocheting, and cooking.
