Mrs. Gustav Haugen, Route 3, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 1963, at Northfield Hospital after a lingering illness. She was 67.
The funeral service for Mrs. Haugen was held Monday afternoon Sept. 23, at the Anderson Funeral Home with Kenneth Dissmore of Minneapolis in charge.
Interment was in Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.
Pallbearers were Helmer Johnson, Andrew Cleland and Wayne Norberg of Northfield and community, Lloyd Broady and Gilbert Vinsland of Faribault, Thelford Larson of Milaca.
Mrs. Haugen nee Petra Overby, was born September 27, 1895, at Binford, N.D., the daughter of Andrew and Ingeborg (Paulson) Overby. She was married January 27, 1917 at Cooperstown, N.D., Gustav Haugen. They came to the Northfield Community soon after their marriage and farmed for many years west of town.
Mrs. Haugen is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Thor Vangen (Gertrude) of Northfield, Mrs. W. C. Aarestad (Thelma) of Jamestown, N.D., Mrs. Paul Hemming (Carol) of Bloomington; three sons, Glenard of St. Louis Park, Allan of Moses Lake, Wash., and Ronald of Northfield; 26 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. There are also five brothers and two sisters surviving. They are Paul, Chris and Johnnie Overby of Binford, Nels Overby of Binghamton, N.Y., Mrs. Dora Moe of Lisieux, Sask., Canada, Miss Marie Overby who resides in Norway and Olai Overby of Northfield.
