Severn, June 29 — Emory Preston Odom, well known in this section, and a native of Northampton County, died Wednesday, June 22. He was 83 years of age.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 23, from the Severn Baptist church, by the Rev. L. V. Harris, assisted by Rev. R. H. Moore. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Surviving Mr. Odom are his widow, Mrs. Martha Odom; his sons, Eugene, Archie and Gordon Odom of Norfolk, VA and Paul Odom of Emporia, VA; his daughters, Mrs. E. F. Wall, of Rocky Mount, NC, Mrs. R. S. Ricks of Waverly, VA, and Miss Mattie Odom of Severn; twenty-one grand children and five great-grand children.
The deceased was born in Northampton county, August 15, 1855.
