Chico Daily Record, Wednesday Morning, June 20, 1923, pg 1 col 1: Mrs. Louella Carsey Dies Following Long Illness. Death called Mrs. Louella Carsey, 4526 Sacramento avenue, shortly before 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon in the Enloe hospital following an illness of long duration. The deceased was 57 years of age and had been a resident of this section for many years where she made many friends who joined with the bereaved family in mourning her loss. She was a native of Iowa.
Mrs. Carsey was a member of the Eastern Star lodge and during her residence here took an active part in the affairs of the organization.
Besides her husband, Mahlon S. Carsey, she leaves four sons, George Abbott of Angel Camp, Charles Abbott of Durham, Earl Abbott of Chico and John Abbott, who is in the United States army. Funeral arrangements have not been completed by the Westfall parlors but will be announced upon the arrival of relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Louella Carsey, 55, who died in the Enloe hospital Tuesday afternoon, will be held from the Westfall parlors this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. The services will be under the direction of the Christian Science church. Mrs. Gertrude Merriman will conduct the obsequies.
The Eastern Star lodge, of which Mrs. Carsey was an active member, will hold services at the grave. Interment will be made in the Chico cemetery.
