C.B. Abbott, 77, Stanfill, died Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, after a short illness.
A native of Alabama, he had lived here 40 years. He was retired from Mahan-Ellison Coal Company.
In addition to his wife, Gertie, he is survived by four children, Roy Abbott, Stanfill; Glenn Abbot, Chevrolet; Mrs. Jean David, Catrons Valley; and Mrs. Kathryn Bray, Hamilton, Ohio.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Otis of West Virginia; Arnold and Cortez of Alabama; and three sisters, Marie Estes and Verla Mobley, Alabama; and Irene Gardner, South Carolina.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. today in the chapel of Anderson-Laws Funeral Home.
