Leonard Swanson
Leonard Swanson, 82, resident of Big Sandy Medical Center since 1986, died Saturday, March 7, 1992. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Big Sandy with burial in Big Sandy Cemetery.
Born Dec. 16, 1909, in Amenia, North Dakota, he was the son of F. J. and Alma Swanson. His family moved to homestead near Kenilworth in 1910. He attended and graduated from Sunshine School in that area.
He and Mary LaBuda were married Dec. 27, 1933, in Havre. They farmed near Kenilworth. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and former member of the church council, former Sunday school teacher and former board member of the Mountain View School. He semi-retired in 1980.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1979 and by one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Whetham of Big Sandy and Marian Behm of Columbia Falls; a son, Robert Swanson of Sunburst; a brother, Alvin of Big Sandy; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
