He died Thursday, July 1, 2004, at his home in Rye, Texas. He was born Dec. 15, 1933, at Stuart to Clem and Leona (Ottele) Ackermann.
He attended school in Stuart and graduated in 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served for four years.
He married Retha O'Neill on March 16, 1973. He was employed for many years at Eastex Camper Sales in Houston before retiring to Rye." Survivors include his wife; two daughters, a sister and seven grandchildren.
