Alyce L. Hartwig was born February 20, 1915, in Pilot Grove Township, Faribault County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Rasmus and Josephine (Olson) Hauge. Alyce was baptized as an infant, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. Alyce received her education in the Pequot Lakes, Minnesota area at country school.

On February 26, 1933, Alyce was united in marriage to Arthur Hartwig at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with five children: Barbara, James, Donald, Becky, and Bruce. Alyce and Art made their home in Hutchinson, Ely and Brainerd, Minnesota, before moving back to Hutchinson in 1950. They shared 69 years of marriage, until Art passed away May 12, 2002.

Alyce was a homemaker, worked at Hands, Inc., and did housework for various families in the area. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.

Alyce enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and baking. She cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

When Alyce needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of the Burns Manor Nursing Home in Hutchinson. She passed away there on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the age of 95 years. Alyce will be dearly missed.

Donald Hartwig and his wife, Marilyn of Hutchinson, MN,
Becky Krueger and her husband, Paul of Rochester, MN,
Bruce Hartwig and his wife, Pat of Hutchinson, MN;
Daughter-in-law, Eulaine Hartwig of Michigan,

15 Grandchildren;

18 Great Grandchildren;

Nieces, Nephews, many other relatives and friends.
