Madeline M. Rumback, 88, Holdrege, Neb., formerly of Hill City, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Phelps Memorial Hospital, Holdrege, Neb.

She was born Aug. 9, 1919, in rural Cloud County to Levi Francis and Margaret Marie (Tremblay) Ribordy.

She married Joseph Rumback on Oct. 25, 1938, in Grainfield. He preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1993. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Lonnie Rumback, Union, Mo., and Les Rumback, Capefair, Mo.; two daughters, Wanda Wire, Greeley, Colo., and Juliana Rome, Arvada, Colo.; two brothers, Kenneth Ribordy and Lenard Ribordy, both of Grainfield; three sisters, Marcella Albers, Mary Ann Racette and Rita Huffman, all of Oakley; 14 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Rome.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hill City; burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Hoxie. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church. A vigil and rosary will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Masses in care of the funeral home.
