She had been in failing health during the past three years.

Anna Abbink was born Jan. 9, 1865 at Luka, Marion, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs John Abbink. When grown to womanhood she was united in marriage to J. H. On Oct. 18, 1942 Mr. and Mrs Uptmor had the happiness of celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary, surrounded by their many relatives and friends. They conducted a Grocery and General Merchandise Store in Teutopolis for many years, later going to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where they were also in business for a number of years. Returning to Teutopolis they again operated their store on the corner directly west of St Francis Church and the family resided in the apartment in the rear of the store and on the second floor of the building.

Mrs Uptmor is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs Henrietta Shelton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who has been here during the past several weeks assisting at the Uptmor home; and Mrs Wm. (Adeline) Engle of Teutopolis; three sons: Harry and Raymond of Teutopolis; and Urban of Chicago; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday morning, Nov. 5th at St Francis Church, with the Rev Egbert Huster, O.F.M. being the celebrant at the solemn Requiem High Mass at 9 a.m., Rev Germain Schwab, O.F.M. and Rev Alban Schwarz, O.F.M. were the deacon and subdeacon respectively.
