Funeral for Idelma Boyd Abbott, 99, of Decatur was to be today, March 8, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rob Jackson and the Rev. Craig Carlisle officiating.

Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation was to be today from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Abbott died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born March 24, 1904, in Marshall County to Thomas Jefferson Boyd and Josephine Louise Gann Boyd. She was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. She was a member of Central Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Abbott was preceded in death by her husband, Cortez Abbott; four brothers; four sisters; and by one grandson, Frank Gilliam.

Survivors include one daughter, Hazel Gilliam of Decatur; one granddaughter, Sheila Gilliam of Decatur; one sister, Opal Norton of Decatur; one great-granddaughter, Heather Stepp of Hartselle; one great-grandson, Chris Gilliam of Decatur; one great-great-granddaughter, Brynna Stepp of Hartselle; one great-great-grandson, Logan Gilliam of Hartselle; and one granddaughter-in-law, Lynne Gilliam of Hartselle.

Pallbearers were to be Neil Ellis, James Owen, Charles Owen, Chris Gilliam and Keith Stepp.
