PIONEER DAUGHTER DIES ON WEDNESDAY

Margaret Ann (Harlow) Pengra, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Hall Harlow, Sr., Oregon pioneers and among those who founded the Eugene Baptist church, died at her home at Garden Way early Wednesday morning following a short illness.

Mrs. Pengra was born January 4, 1854, four years after the Harlow family had come to Oregon and settled on a donation land claim in Lane county. On May 14, 1884, she married William Joel Pengra. They made their home in Springfield until 1898 when they moved to McMinnville and in 1907, returned to their old home, where Mr. Pengra died in 1927.

Surviving Mrs. Pengra are three sons, Paul H. Pengra, Corvallis; Arthur H. Pengra, Lebanon, and M. Norton Pegra, Garden Way; three daughters, Mrs. Charlotte P. Allen, Weiser, Idaho; Mrs. Edith Bockes, Eugene, and Mrs. Frances Abshier, Goldendale, Wn.; one brother, Mahlon Hall Harlow, Jr., route 2, Eugene; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Springfield Baptist church, Dr. A.J. Harms, Eugene, officiating. Interment will be in the Laurel Hill cemetery. Phil Bartholomew chapel in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.~~~~
