Mrs. Nellie Newton, 87, who formerly resided at 127 Bay Street, died Friday evening at 8:20 o'clock in an Omro home for the aged. She would have celebrated her 88th birthday anniversary next Friday.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Born April 22, 1861 at Oakfield, Wis., she had been an Oshkosh resident since 1910. In January, 1892, she was married To Fred M. Newton, who was for many years a freight and passenger agent for the Chicago & Northwestern railroad. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1942. That same year, on July 2, Mr. Newton died. A son, Kenneth, also died that year.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Konrad funeral home. The Rev. John Reinheimer of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Neenah, will officiate at the services. Interment will be in the Oakfield, Wis. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon after 2 o'clock and until the time of services Monday.
Mrs. Newton is survived by a son, Merrill, of Butte des Morts; a grandson, Robert, Oakland, Calif, and several nieces and nephews.
