This is my 2nd double cousin.
Edward is the son of Sherman Acree and Flora Romines Acree and the husband of Ruby May Geesey Acree.
Edward was born 8 months after my Mother and they were very close.
As children, people often mistook them for brother and sister and they continued to look very much alike right on through their senior years. Mom was very proud of that.

After Mom moved to Indy from Edmonton Kentucky, where they both grew up together, they still kept in pretty close contact by phone.

I can remember at times seeing my Mother looking very tired and really worn down and that phone would ring and if it would be Edward, Jasper, Ellie, Helen, James Elam or her friend Patty, she would perk right up and be ready to take on the world again by the end of their conversation.
It's like God knew exactly what she needed and He made sure that need got taken care of.

Dear Edward,
I want to thank you and your wonderful family for all the beautiful memories that will live on in my heart forever.
Lately in my reflections, I have definitely learned that when Mom thought someone was special, they truly were.

I know that you had to be one of the first in line to greet Momma when she made her entrance into God's glorious Kingdom,
And I would have to say that when she laid her eyes on you, she felt at peace and knew everything would be all right.

All my love and appreciation to you, for not being just a relative to her, but for being a friend, a true friend.
Rest peacefully sweet Spirit.
