Funeral arrangements have been made for
Merle Abney of Zapata, Texas, 80, who died on Sunday, Oct. 25, at Fariview Milica Hospital in Milica, Minn.
Abney farmed for many yeara in Rockwell City and Milica, Minn. until he moved to Zapata, Texas in 1968.
Mass of the Christian burial will be Thursday, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Auburn, with the Rev. William Carel officiating.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Huffman Memorial Chapel in Lake City.
Visitation will be after noon on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Mr. Abney is survived by his wife, Drusilla; children: Merle Abney Jr. of Princeton, Minn., Janice (Mrs. Charles) Dery of Wimberly, Texas, LuEetta (Mrs. Darrell) Peterson of Buda, Texas, Roger Abney of menard, Ill., and Peggy (Mrs. Larry) Easterwood, of Buda, Texas; a sister, Mary (Mrs. Winfield) Moulds of Rockwell City; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Lloyd and a sister, Ethel.

Merle was the son of William C. and Sarah Jones Abney of Coon Valley, Sac, Iowa. He married the former Druislla Daiker, daughter of John A. and Caroline Thelen Daiker.
