Peggy Aastrom, 66, of Wheatland died April 18 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Plentywood, Mont., on Dec. 5, 1944, to Charles and Marie (Hareland) Hilyard. She graduated from Plentywood High School in 1962 and from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Lewistown, Mont., in 1963 as a licensed practical nurse.
She continued her nursing education at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne and obtained an associate's degree in nursing in 1991. She went on to receive a certificate in medical transcription in 2007. She was also a school bus driver.
She enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, cooking, building doll houses, reading and computers.
Mrs. Aastrom is survived by her husband of 47 years, Lee Aastrom; her children, Rodney Aastrom of Wheatland and Robert Aastrom of Canyon Lake, Texas; four grandchildren; and sisters, Ann C. Lindberg and May Budke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marie; and her brothers, Harold, Mario and Harry.
