Florence Abel, age 80, of Springfield, died Thursday February 22, 2007 aMemorial Medical Center. Survived by: Brother : Walter "Buddy" Abel of Athens Sister: Dorothy Beaty of Petersburg 2 Nieces and 1 Nephew
Ms. Abel was born on October 13, 1926 in Morgan, Illinois the daughter John C. and Ethel Mae Lockett Abel .She worked at the Springfield munitions plant with her sisters during World War II.
She is preceded in death by three sisters.
Services will be held on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mott and Henning Funeral Home. A visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Rev. Milton Crain officiating Burial will follow at the Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.
