Anthony Camalier Abell, 67, Bryantown

Anthony Camalier "Tony" Abell, 67, of Bryantown died Aug. 2, 2011, at home.

Born July 29, 1944, in Fresno, Calif., he was the son of Norma Abell and the late Col. Benjamin C. Abell Jr.

He was a 1962 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Bryantown and attended Charles County Community College. After that, he served in the U.S. Air National Guard for three years. He worked as a teller at the old Waldorf Bank and the Safeway grocery store in Waldorf. He moved to Los Angeles, where for about 12 years he worked for several banks, programming their mainframe computers. He returned to Bryantown in 1980 where he made a living as an antiques dealer.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin C. Abell III.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Jeffrey D. King of California and Marie T. Abell of Minnesota.

A service will be held at noon Aug. 20 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bryantown.
