Funeral services for Salome Selland were held Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at 10 a.m., at Salem Lutheran Church, Parkston, with the Rev. Constanze Hagmaier officiating. Music was furnished by the Salem Singers and Betty Marshall, organist.
Interment was made in the Parkston Protestant Cemetery with Koehn Bros. Funeral Home, Parkston, in charge of arrangements. Casketbearers were Delvin Schuh, Brent Boehmer, Delmar Batterman, Dave Boehmer, Arlen Schuh and Curt Schuh.

Salome Selland was born August 22, 1913, to Solomon and Wilhelmina (Lagge) Semmler at Delmont. She was baptized into the Christian faith on August 29, 1913, and confirmed on July 8, 1928.

She was united in marriage to Herbert Schuh on December 2, 1934, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Delmont.

She married Ed Selland in October 1982.

She died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston at the age of 95 years.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Lynette (Schuh) Boehmer and husband, Dave, Parkston, Trevis Schuh and wife, Yun Suk, Mt. House, Calif., and Delvin Schuh and wife, Kathleen, Black Hawk; grandchildren, Brent, Brianna and Bryson Boehmer, all of Parkston, and Ethan Schuh, Mt. House, Calif.; three siblings, Anita Tschetter, Sioux Falls, Rose, Arkansas, and Ben Semmler, Nashville, Ark.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other grandchildren and great-grandchildren from her daughter's side.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Herbert Schuh and Ed Selland; son, Harlan Schuh; daughter-in-law, Sharon Schuh; and eight siblings, Gerhardt, Eldora, Agatha, Johnathan, Frieda, Herman, "Windy," and Roland.
