OAKLEY - William Racette, 87, died Thursday, May 22, at the Logan County Hospital, Oakley.
Mr. Racette was born May 18, 1898 in Casper, Wyo. He was a retired farmer and a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oakley.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; six sons, Wilcid, Luke and Wilbur of Oakley, Gerald of Commerce City, Colo., George of Dodge City, and Daniel of Colby; eight daughters, Rita Ribordy, Ruth Baalman, Thelma Beckman and Harriet Schroeder of Oakley, Betty Zimmerman of Denver, Phyllis Zerr of Park, Delores Adams of Lakewood, Colo., and Geneva Robben of Des Moines, Iowa; a brother, Delphos of Clyde; 78 grandchildren and 104 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oakley, the Rev. Alvin Werth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A rosary and wake service will be at 8 p.m. today at the Koster Funeral Home, Oakley.
Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph's school. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
