Funeral services are to be held in Cortez tomorrow afternoon for Chess Allmond, a resident of the Dove Creek area since 1934, who dies Feb. 20, 1978 at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez.
Rev. Wesley Case and Rev. Samuel Thompson will conduct the services at the Ertel Memorial Chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment is to follow in the Cahone Cemetery.
Mr. Allmond was born at Cordell OK, Jan. 29, 1912.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the family home; a step-son, Richard Miller of Bothell WA., two daughters, Shirley Davis and Pat Knuckles of Dove Creek; five sisters, Rachel Garner of Panhandle OK., Leona McCray of Floydada TX., Vern Blackenship of Stephenville TX., Ola Spencer of Clovis CA., and a brother, Buzz Allmond of Kent WA.
