MARION, Va. Raymond "Pete" Able, age 55, died Friday Oct. 14, 2011, at Francis Marion Manor in Marion. He was born Oct. 16, 1955, in Welch, W.Va., to the late Raymond C. Able and Ruby Irene Slusher Wright. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Pete is survived by his wife, Ruth Rowland Able of Marion; two sons, Mathew Able and Josh Able, both of Marion; his mother, Ruby Irene Wright of Union, W.Va.; one brother, Paul Wright of Union; three step-brothers, Mike Reynolds and Danny Reynolds, both of Marion, and James Reynolds of Iaeger, W.Va.; and one step-sister, Debbie Smith of Cedar Bluff, Va. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev.Donald Medley officiating. Burial will follow in Wassum Cemetery with military rites conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post No. 4667 with the presence of the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Team. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
