GEORGE SEBEK, our precious husband, father, grandfather, and friend, left this earth on October 25, 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Barbara Sebek; brother Frank Sebek; and sister Rosie Mrosko. His is survived by his wife of fifty-three years Faye Sebek of Houston, Texas; son George Sebek Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Baltimore, MD.; daugher Debbie Powell and fiance Jim Kinley of Liberty Hill, Texas; and son Jerald D. Sebek, Sr. of Houston, Texas; brothers Albert Sebek, Jerry Sebek and wife Billie, and sister Elsie Rovnosky all of Houston, Texas. Other survivors include twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. George was very proud of his Czech heritage. In the early 1900's his parents arrived in the United States from Czechoslovakia. They lived in Galveston, Texas before moving to Fairbanks, Texas to establish their homestead where George was born on September 7, 1929. He graduated from Cy-Fair High School with scholarships in Football and Basketball at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas. After completing college he me his soul mate and life companion Faye Lois Moore. They married on October 27, 1950. During the Korean War George was called to active duty to serve in the 376th Division of the United States Army Military Police. Following his honorable discharge from the Army in 1952 he went to work for Big 3 Industry which is currently known as Air Liquide of France. He retired in 1994 after forty-two years of employment as Sales Manager. George's family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr.'s Abdul Ali and Terry Scarborough and the nursing staff of Memorial Hermann Hospital for their care and attention. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 28th at Memorial Oaks Mortuary, 13301 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas with the following schedule: Private family from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.; Friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A private Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 29th.
