Rose M. Jensen, age 81, of Watertown, SD passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at a local care center. She was the widow of Glenn Jensen. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Watertown. Rev. Reino Maunu will officiate. Music will be provided by Wanda Laue.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Rose's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Rose's grandsons: Paul Brown, Jason Jensen, Adam Bloom, Jake Talsma, Josh Talsma, Ryan Jensen, Case Vanderzee, Isaac Grover, Eric O'Malley, and Gabe Jensen.
Visitation will be at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and in the church on Monday prior to the services.
Rose was born on November 15, 1930 in Hamlin County, SD to Francis and Anne Marie (Yonker) West. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1948.
On November 20, 1948, Rose married Glenn Jensen in Watertown. The couple lived in Watertown and Rose worked at the Wheel Inn, Midtex Corp., then Midcom, and later Minnesota Rubber. She and Glenn then managed Memorial Park Campground for ten years. Glenn passed away on June 28, 2004.
Rose was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and loved to garden, read, sew, and make dolls. She especially enjoyed spending time with and playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her children: Geri (Marty) Bloom of River Falls, WI, Robin (Lon Clifford) Althoff and Jeff (Ra Nae Schussler) Jensen all of Hazel, SD, Robert Jensen of Watertown, SD, and Scott Boyle of Sequin, TX; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters: Betty Helland of Watertown, SD and Susie Appelhoff of Sioux Falls, SD; and sisters-in-law: Shirley West and Beverly West both of Watertown, SD.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Carol; a son, Gregory; a granddaughter, Rachael; a great-grandson, Michael Wesley; and two brothers.
