Geneva Lane Abbott, 74, of 1214 Perryville Road died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington.
Born May 9, 1920, in Henry County, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert Mitchell and Maddie Lee Whitaker Lane. She had been employed at the former Palm Beach Company, Danville, and at Mercer Dress Company, Harrodsburg. She also was retired from Whirlpool Corp., Danville. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers' Union and the Sunshine Campers Club. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. She belonged to First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Emanuel Abbott; two sons, Billy L. and Jerry M. Abbott, both of Danville; one daughter, Ann Hardin of Danville; two brothers, Wilbert Mitchell Lane of London and James Maurice Lane of Stuart, Va.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Bob Bausum. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, Danville.
