Mrs. Joseph Carroll died Wednesday morning at her home in Creighton After a short illness of heart complications.
Anna Kane Carroll was born at La Crosse Wisconsin, Sept. 16, 1863. Died May 23, 1916. When eight years of age she came with her widowed mother to Bloomfield NE. She was married to Joseph Carroll Feb. 11, 1881 and lived on a farm ten miles West of Creighton until about sevens years ago when they removed to their present home in Creighton.
Mrs. Carroll was the mother of thirteen children, ten of whom survived her. Besides these, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Pat Reese, of Creighton, Mrs. Goetz of Hartington, four brothers, Pat of Greybull, S.D., Matt of Clifton Ariz. Phillipe of Sheridan, WY, George of Creighton, and five grandchildren.The children are: Mrs. C. W. Nies of Sioux City, IA; Charles, William, Rose and Joseph of Ekalaka, MT; Bessie, George, Vincent, Gerald and Edmund of Creighton.
The funeral will be held from St. Ludgreus Church, Friday morning at 10:30 and the remains interred in the Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Carroll was a woman who was beloved by all who knew her and in the early days when overland trips were made, to Yanktoh, her family were very popular.
