Mr. Earl Newell Griffith, 82, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday Jan. 27, 2007, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Paulk Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Steve Waldorf officiating.
Music will be provided by soloist Lee Massee and pianist Becky Anderson.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Griffith was born in Kokomo, Ind., on October 4, 1924 to Earl Newell and Rhoda Arletta Bullinger Griffith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Mize Griffith, a son Earl Griffith, Jr. and a daughter Carolyn Jane Wann.
An Army veteran of World War II, he moved here from Anderson, Ind., in 1978. He worked as an accountant and CPA for General Motors Corporation for 35 years, first in Anderson, then at the Delco-Remy plant in Fitzgerald. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where he was in the Carlyle Sunday School Class.
Survivors include: sons, Col. James Ray "Jim" Griffith of Germany and George Lee Griffith of Greensburg, Ind., daughters, Jessica Lynn Davenport of Fitzgerald and Genie Higgins of Wendell, N.C.; sister, Montra Smith of North Manchester, Ind.; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
