Our loving mother, grandmother and friend passed away Thursday, June 10, 2004. She was born Nov. 16, 1923, in Edgard and was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge.

She was a retired teacher from the East Baton Rouge Parish school system. She was a wonderful friend with a gift for serving others.

She is survived three daughters, Frances LaFleur Quackenbos of Metairie, Jeanna LaFleur Avery and husband Pat of Zachary and Becky LaFleur Jackson and husband Kerry of Baton Rouge; two sons, Dick LaFleur and wife Sharon of Greenwell Springs and Hosea LaFleur and wife Melanie of Baton Rouge; grandchildren and spouses, Brandi LaFleur-Leach and husband Darron Leach, Jim and Erin Quackenbos, Aimee Quackenbos Adams and Marty Adams, Andrew Quackenbos, Taw and Logan Avery, Kami Kelly, Kristi Jackson Akers and Josh Akers, Stephen Jackson, Lindsay LaFleur and fiancee Hunter Coates, Elizabeth LaFleur and Hosea LaFleur; and nine siblings and spouses, Lloyd and Elaine Abadie of Crowley, Tom Abadie, Shirley and Ivy Chauvin and Lou Suski, all of Edgard, Mona Ann and Charlie Rieckie, JF and Ellwyn Abadie of Metairie, Warren and Molly Abadie of New Iberia, Dale and Ann Abadie of Oxford, Miss., and Jeannette Abadie of Arabi.

Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Ferdinand Abadie and Mona Roussel Abadie.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Our special thanks to her many friends who have given her family such love and support.
