Arthur Nelson, 76, long a resident of Raymond, died last Wednesday at a Seattle hospital following an extended period of ill health.
Mr. Nelson was born February 5, 1890, at Fremont, Neb. and had lived here since 1928. He was employed as a millwright at the former local veneer plant prior to his retirement. He was a honorary life member of the Raymond Elks Lodge. His wife, Dora Nelson, died April 7, 1964.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Fern James, of San Jose, California; three grand-daughters : Mrs. Lorene Orkney of Seattle; Mrs. Charlotte Slavich and Miss Gwen James both of San Jose; a grandson, Clayton Cox, of San Jose and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Murphy Chapel with the Reverend E. Vincent Smith, Methodist minister, officiating. Burial followed beside his wife at Fern Hill Cemetery.
Officers of the Raymond Elks Lodge conducted the graveside rites and served as caskets bearers.
