She was married to Emanuel Beck in 1856, and several years later they moved to Woodsfield, Ohio, where they lived ten years. They came to Emporia in October, 1869. Mr. Beck died in February, 1912.
Mrs. Beck is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hugh F. Holmes and Mrs. M. F. Bray, of Emporia. She lived with Mrs. Bray. Two children died in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. Emma Abraham, died at her home in Texas twenty years ago. Mrs. Beck united with the Lutheran Church in her girlhood. Upon coming to Emporia she united with the First United Methodist Church. Her life's interests were largely within her home and with her children. Her generous nature was evidenced by her gifts to poor families whom she had befriended all her life. Her death has caused sorrow in many homes of Emporia.
The funeral will be held at the home tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. Bascom Robbins will conduct the services. Interment will be made in Maplewood Cemetery. Mrs. Beck's nephew, Charles Halderman, of Bellingham, Wash., who has been visiting here, will be the only one of the out of town relatives present.
