Katharina Ackermann, nee Eissinger, was born on January 18, 1845 in Johannestal, South Russia. She married Jacob Ackermann in 1864, he is now mourning her death. This marriage was blessed with 12 children, of whom 4 preceded their mother in death, 2 girls and 2 boys.

She and her family moved to America in 1885 and they settled near Greenway, South Dakota. When she was 39, she converted to God and was baptized by Fred G. Engelmann at the church in Eureka, South Dakota. She was a faithful member until her death on February 22, 1920.

She leaves her deeply-grieved husband, 6 sons, 2 daughters, 6 daughter-in-laws, 2 son-in-laws, 40 grandchildren as well as 9 great-grandchildren. Her funeral took place at the church in Eureka and since the church had no pastor, the ceremony was led by other pastors and friends.
