SANDERS, MT. ----- Claude M. Church and his wife came to Hysham, MT., in 1929, and lived in the area since that time.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Manning Construction for many years, retiring in 1971.
He was a member of Operating Engineers Union and enjoyed mechanical work and gardening.
Mr. Church, 82, died Tuesday morning in the Rosebud Health Care Center, at Forsyth, MT.
He was born in Richardton, N.D., a son of Warren and Natalia Webber Church, He attended schools in Richardton and worked on area farms.
On Jan. 28, 1927, he married Rosa Lamm in Richardton.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Paulune Pierce of Pompeys Pillar, MT., Dorothy Adams of Hysham, MT., and Darlene Hawley of Pocatello, ID.; six sons, Charles od Melstone, MT.m David of Custer, MT., Jimmy of Powell, WY., Tim of Acton, MT., Theodore of Hysham, and Lenard of Petersburg, Alaska; 30 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church in Hysham.
Burial will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery in Hysham, MT.
Beals Mortuary of Forsyth, MT., is in charge.
