Funeral services for Mrs. Doyce Rookard Abernathy, age 81, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Monday.
Mrs. Abernathy, a retired postal carrier and member of First Baptist Church, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Lagniappe Health Care.
She is preceded in death by husbands, Tommy Rookard, Sr. and J.D. Abernathy; parents, Austin Funderburg and Jessie Willis; sister, Betty Yarbrough and great grandson, Ayden Miletello
