Survivors are his wife, Ernestine; one son, Edwin of Pierre; one brother,Theofil of Mobridge; four sisters, Bertha Gatzke and Mrs. Robert Neumiller of Mobridge, Mrs. Albert Schneider of Java and Mrs. Milton Deibert of Mound City; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Ackerman of Mobridge; and three grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his father, Johannes Ackerman.
