Verona Breimeier, 84, New Salem, died Nov. 24, 2001, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Loren Strum officiating. Burial will be in Otter Creek Cemetery, Otter Creek.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. MST today at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church.

Verona Bauer was born Feb. 9, 1917, at Blue Grass, the daughter of William and Lea Bauer. She grew up and attended school in the Blue Grass area. On Nov. 20, 1942, she married Paul Breimeier at her parents' home. They farmed in Otter Creek. Paul passed away June 23, 1980. In 1989, she moved to New Salem.

Verona was active in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Otter Creek Church, St. Peter's Lutheran Church and LWML, Hannover, and Zion Lutheran Church and LWML in New Salem. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, playing cards and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her nine children and their spouses, Jeanette and James Gast, Sheboygan, Wis., Phyllis and Richard Behnken, Anchorage, Alaska, LeRoy Breimeier, Vincennes, Ind., Bill and Norma Breimeier, New Salem, Betty and Bob Narlock, West Fargo, Wayne and Shirley Breimeier, Beulah, Arden and Amy Breimeier, Oxbow, Curtis and Laurie Breimeier, Bismarck, and Rita Breimeier, Breckenridge, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Doris Keller, Ruth and Howard Gray, Anita Flemmer and Janice and Norman Eggers; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Bernice Bauer, Lloyd and Wilma Bauer and Arlois "Jug" and Eunice Bauer.

Verona was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; one brother, Edgar Bauer; one sister, Bernice Adolf; and one grandson, Scott Narlock. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)
