Mr. Coon was born in Erie County, Pennsylvania, November 11, 1931, and was therefore nearly 82 years of age at the time of his death. When a young man he removed to the state of Illinois, and on the trip west made the acquaintance of Miss Martha Kinzle, to whom he was married a year later. In 1865 Mr. Coon and the family came to this county, since their home. Mrs. Coon passed away ten years ago. The surviving members of the family are Mrs. Addie Abbott, Mrs. Emma Aucutt and Mrs. Sarah Odell, all of Manchester; Mrs. Jennie Kinzle of Belvedere, Illinois; George A. Coon of Kad's Grove, this county and Horace Coon of Oneida, Iowa.
Mr. Coon had long since retired from farm work and a familiar figure on our streets.
Burial in Campton-Oak Hill county, Lamont.
